I can't talk about their plumbing skills but I can definitely talk about their poor driving skills. This afternoon near Waukegan, a truck invaded my lane and I almost had an accident. Hope you do something about it.

He gave me an estimate over the phone without coming to my condo, and I already bought the garbage disposal. The plumber said he will not do the electrical hookup for the garbage disposal and the installation will cost $800.00. I thought he was joking at first, then I asked him again and he said $800.00 to install a garbage disposal for my kitchen sink without hooking it up to the electrical outlet! Do not use this company, it's a rip off and waste of your time.

When I called Aqua Dr for an estimate on a 2-unit repipe and modified overhead sewer, they came out on time and were courteous and polite. We had a great conversation for about a hour. Based on the their forest first impression, I wanted to hire them for the job. I had received a couple other quotes and Aqua Dr was about $6,000 cheaper from one the lowest quotes I received. Although they didn’t provide wall restoration, I did not mind due to their good first impression. They requested a very hefty deposit where the other companies did not but again I did not mind. Unfortunately, this estimate was the only good experience I had with Aqua Dr. The journeyman advised me that the owner will contact me to go over my tankless water heater options and instruct me what route to go and have everything sized up properly. I never got a call from the owner and the next time I talked to the journeyman I was told to go with with biggest residential tankless for both units but it may not be enough and that I would have to install a second weather heater in the future. I responded with “I might as well get two tankless water heaters, one for each unit and get it done right the first time”. He told me to get two of the biggest residential tankless they make. In the back of my mind I was thinking well where’s the owners phone call to go over my options and size my home up based on the needs of the building. A couple days later the journeyman Jim advised me that they can start the following week and that the job will take a maximum of two weeks to complete. He didn’t tell me a start time but I assumed they were going to work from 8am to 5pm because that’s the village working hours. Monday arrives and I texted Jim about 830 to see what time they are arriving and I did not get a response. I figured they were off then since it was Holiday even though only banks observer that holiday. I went on with my morning and headed to Menards and received a phone call from the owner Chris stating they were outside. I was a bit upset due to the lack of communication and told him I would be home in about hour because I thought they were not going to show. When I arrived he explained Jim had and emergency and could not come in, which is understandable but not giving me a start time and not calling en route on the first day was not a good start of the job. Once I gave access to the guys I headed to dunking donuts to get coffee and donuts for the guys as an apology for being upset with the lack of communication. The first week I was told it was going to be strictly work in the basement and I understand it is winter time and things get dirty but at the end of each day nothing was picked up and everything was left a complete mess with windows open and doors unlocked along with mud all over the floors, walls and doors. And to make it more aggravating the donuts and coffee I bought was all over the laundry machines with bloody bandaids for me to pick up after them. I told jim if it was possible to take time at the end of the day to pick up and keep the staircase clean because I have tenants living on the second floor. I also had to request to get plywood out down on the open trench for the tenants can walk through to do laundry. I felt that I shouldn’t have to ask for things like this but I did. Once Friday came along tarps were left on the staircase which obviously leaves a safety hazard because anyone can trip and fall down the stairs along with garbage being left everywhere. About 10-12 black garbage bags were left right outside my back door which was directly on the walking path. I had to move all the trash bags to the back by the garbage cans which I don’t mind but I had just gotten surgery on my finger and was only able to use one hand. I can go in and on for a few more paragraphs on the dissatisfying service of Aqua Doctor but I think that’s enough. Maybe they provide an incredible service on repair and maintenance but on a repipe I definitely would not recommend this company. Not only the work that was done was messy but they left four leaks as well one of which being a gas leak. I never seen anyone not double check those work like this company. At the end of the job the owner was disrespectful because I said I wanted to pay them n two weeks since they took an additional two weeks to finish the job without even telling me. His response was that Jim had family issues. I understand everyone has their issues at home. But the work has to get done and I’m sure that’s not the only employee he has. I had a dying nephew this year along with dealing with my ptsd from my combat tour in the Marines, but I have to keep going on so I don’t see how that is an excuse for horrible workmanship and service. He said he would love to take my *** to court and a f***ing lien on my home. I never said I wouldn’t pay I just said I would pay in 2 weeks. I ended paying most of the bill that was left and held 2 grand until the final inspection is done which he said he will guarantee he will be there to collect that check. That sounded like a threat but I guess I will see what that means when he comes back.

[Member Name Removed] review is definitely not an accurate description of how things went. This was almost a complete plumbing rehab for a two flat building, inculding an overhead sewer conversion in the basement. The two units were fully occupied while this project was taking place. We were denied access to both units and the basement multiple times and had to leave. There were days the crew would so up to work in one of the units and told they weren't able to have access to do the work that day, and had to switch work areas. This sometimes meant we had paid for extra labor that couldn't be utilized properly. There was one occasion we were denied access to even work at all, the crew showed up and [Member Name Removed] was having a bad day and told them they were not allowed into the property. Again this was a large plumbing rehab while the units were occupied. this meant we also had to remove kitchen counter tops and cabinets in the units to replace water lines and drain lines for the kitchen and bathroom, as they were in the same wall. At the end of the day we had to replace the cabinets and counter tops, and hook up all the fixtures. When we returned the next day we had to move everything again to do more work, then hook everything up again at the end of each additional day. Removing cabinets & countertops and then hooking them backup at the end of each day is very time consuming. We did this with no complaining as it was necessary to keep them in service, so they didn't have to get a hotel room while the project was going on. This definitely adds extra time to any job. We then got text messages from [Member Name Removed] showing screenshots of conversations between him and his tenant saying "a Mexican crew would have had this done in a week" to which he replied to the message "LMAO". He said he sent me the screen shots to show his tenant was aggravated and saud we had to be done by 5pm each day and needed to hurry up with the project. There was one occasion we had spoke on the phone and he told me about some complaints he had about trying to keep the basement floor cleaner. We dug up the entire underground plumbing system under the basement floor which also involved breaking and removing alot of the concrete floor. This is much to large of an area to cover everything with plywood, especially since there's multiple obstacles, the water heater, furnace, doors and walls. Parts of the trench would probably still be exposed unless we cut the plywood around every single angle or obstacle which is absurd. I personally would let my tenant know this could be a tripping hazzard or just an all around dangerous area to be in and that they would have to use the laundry mat while this portion of the job was going on. I talked to my crew and explained to try to do a better clean up job and cover what they could at the end of each day. I told [Member Name Removed] if there were any other issues please contact me directly on my cell phone. He did not reach out to me about any other issues until it came time to pay and said he was holding back 2 weeks. That is completely unacceptable to do because the job took longer due to us having provide full plumbing service at the end of each day, jump through hoops and being denied access to different areas and to the project altogether on multiple occasions. We certainly didn't charge more for the extra time to keep them in service each day, or ask for a payment before we were done because he delayed parts of the job. There was also more work added to the original contract. There was a failed backwater valve installed under the footing. This required the yard to be dug up near the front of the house, which we discounted the price for that repair to help out with this as it was unexpected. In the reply it says he wasn't told the job was taking longer. [Member Name Removed] lived there the entire time, not sure how he was unaware. Especially since he was the one denying access when he was having a bad day. When I say he was having a bad day, thats how he would describe it when he would apologize. I don't think [Member Name Removed] is a bad guy, and I'm sorry he has PTSD but we certainly tried our best to navigate the obstacles we encountered.

Went very well. The techs were an hour late but theydid call to inform me of the delay and stayed in contact until they reached the job. Once on site, they were quick and neat. Less than a half an hour things were back to normal and it didn't even look like someone was there. That's how clean they were. I would hire again and recommend them to family and neighbors.

Last March Cody and his crew came out to do a basement waterproofing project, to complete a job that was done poorly by another company in the past. This past weekend we had a huge rainstorm. I know that the basement would be full of water if we had not done this job. I am happy that we have a completely dry basement! Jim and Rob had also done some plumbing work last March, basically fixing our drain system. We are very happy with this work also. Great job guys!

Jim & Rob handled the service. When they realized that they were running late, they called early on to let me know. They were a completely in sink team. They were efficient, knowledgable and extremely courteous. My father had owned his own plumbing company post WWII, and was one of the first licensed plumbers in the state of Illinois; accordingly, I watched & had many plumbing questions regarding the install. Jim & Rob patiently shared their expertice. High recommend. A great experience.

Aqua Doctor did a fantastic job with my kitchen sink project. I had switched out my sink from a double to a single and needed the connections set up with my 1970's era plumbing. They came out to do a free estimate, offered me a fair price to complete the work, and finished the job the same day. They were friendly and great to work with, and I appreciated that they are a family owned business. I've had no issues with the plumbing and would definitely recommend their work!

It was a rainy weekend…We had rapid leaking from the pipes in our basement ceiling (discovered over the weekend). We had called or regular company and other plumbers/services and all “took a message” or flat out said they were not available. Sunday morning I decided to try one more time. Rob answered the phone himself and offered to come over later in the day. He called back to let me know the exact time of his arrival. I didn’t know the source of the water so we weren’t doing laundry or dishes. Rob arrived and quickly located the source of the water and repaired the problem. We were expecting to pay $$$ because it was a Sunday emergency call. The price was quite reasonable but he gave us a discount on the full service price because he only needed to perform a part of that service…we now have a new friend and a new plumber. Great guy, great service and definitely a great price. *My husband was very impressed that he answered the phone himself.

I would highly recommend Aqua Doctor because of their honesty and professionalism. I have a rental condo unit on the first floor and there is water dripping from the ceiling. Jim called to ask what is the issue before he came out. After I sent pictures he said it's probably leaking from the upper unit and advised me to contact the owner upstairs. This was very wise because I had no clue at all. It took me some time to contact the owner and schedule a time. Rob came out to check the leakage and the piping of both units. He said it might be condensation from the upper unit AC, and the cat might be knocking the drainage pipe off causing the leakage. Instead of charging money to cut the ceiling open, he advised us to monitor the situation and call him if it happens again. We really appreciate him being honest & considerate, and not ripping off money like some people will do. Even though I hope it will not happen again, I will definitely call Jim and Rob if it does. They have earned my respect and trust.

Provider showed up within 24 hours and provided a detailed quote and recommendations. I contacted them to apply my claimed deal from Angi, and they never returned my call or email. So they simply chose to ignore the discount and went silent on me. I contacted Angi/Customer Support and they were no help at all. Not sure how SUPER SERVICE Award winners are selected but clearly that process needs blown up.

Hired Aqua Doctor to replace a bathroom faucet . They did an outstanding job and gave me a great price. The following month my kitchen faucet needed replacement so again I hired Aqua Doctor . Don’t hesitate to give them a try because you won’t be disappointed. Overall, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rating

Sunday March 28, 2021 I had the pleasure of working with Aqua Doctors Plumbing at 1304 Eastview Drive Waukegan, IL 60085. At home there were two (2) small gas leaks at connection points with my furnace and the stove. They were the first to reply when I initiated the request for quotes on Saturday 3/27. They scheduled an appointment for the next day between 11-1 pm. They arrived at the beginning of the window of time they quoted (yippee). I was prepared to provide shoe covers due to the pandemic. They were respectful of safety measures and had their own shoe covers and masks in hand already. Bravo! Chris and Rob were very good at providing and explanation of services to be rendered. A consultative approach was used and appreciated. They did not talk down to you as the client/non-plumber in the room. They worked expeditiously and thoroughly resolving both issues. I also had them quote a larger job due to this good experience. I found them to be reliable and I’m sure you will too! Thank you, Aqua Doctors! Kind regards, Major J. Johnson (retired)

Paul from Aqua Doctor Plumbing was great. We had 4 estimates done that had said the job was more extensive and expensive than what we thought. Paul was honest and accurate with the repair. He explained to us exactly what created the leak and the cost of the repair. He steered us in the right direction with what we needed to do and discouraged the unnecessary work that was suggested from other companies. We will definitely use Aqua Doctors again for future repairs and work!!

I purchased a sewer rodding on an Angie;s list deal for $125. They were not able to rod it all the way to the street. They claimed the obstruction was likely a broken pipe. They claimed that there was some urgency because the pipe was full of water and I was likely to have a backup soon. Their written assessment and quote was $3,600 to repair that section or $5,800 to replace the entire pipe from the house. I decided to get a 2nd opinion from a sewer company I had used before and trusted. They were able to break through the obstruction (rather easily they said) and clear to the street. They confirmed the pipe is not broken. Their service cost $300. I would not use Aqua plumber again or recommend them to anyone.
